Three residents from Alexandria will be among more than 6,000 riders participating in the 211-mile Pan-Mass Challenge on Aug. 7 and 8. A new art installation coming to Alexandria's Waterfront Park offers a glimpse at what the floor of the Potomac River looks like. The "Groundswell" temporary art installation by Mark Reigelman is the third in the "Site See: New Views in Old Town" public art series at Waterfront Park. A four-story office building known as Waterfront I in Old Town North is slated to become the home of condos. Commercial real estate firm Finmarc Management, Inc., announced it has sold the vacant property at 801 North Fairfax Street for $13.12 million. The new owner, Abramson Properties, revealed plans to turn the property into a 54-unit condominium. Construction activities are expected to start this year.
